margarita

Is there a more festive drink? Refreshing, tasty, and just strong enough—this drink is a must have on every Taco Tuesday. You’ll start with one, but heaven knows how you can stop there! Try your best to drink responsibly…

Serving: 2 margs

Ingredients:

6 oz tequila repasado

1/2 oz mezcal

1/2 oz Cointreau, or any orange-flavored liqueur

1 1/2 oz simple syrup

juice of 1/2 a lime, plus 2 wedges

salt rim, optional

2 large ice cubes

Steps:

Make simple syrup. Combine equal parts of sugar and water (for example, one cup sugar, one cup water) in a sauce pan over medium heat. Cook until the sugar has dissolved, and the liquid is clear, not cloudy. Let cool. Store in the fridge for future use.

Optional, salt your rim. Take a small plate and fill with kosher salt for the larger crystals. Take a lime wedge and rub around the rim of the glass. Flip glass and dip in salt to create a salt rim.

Combine tequila, mezcal, Cointreau, simple syrup, and lime juice in a shaker filled with regular ice. Shake with vigor.

Place a large ice cube in each glass. Pour the margarita mix evenly into each glass. Take remaining lime wedges, squeeze one in each glass, and drop inside.

Thirst. Quenched.
